A licensed funeral director since 1980, Andy graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1976. His higher education took him to Lake Michigan College (class of 1978) and the Mid America College of Mortuary Science in Indianapolis (class of 1980). He has a state of Michigan mortuary science license. 

Andy is a lifelong resident of Southwest Michigan and a member of the First Church of God. His volunteer time is spent with the Benton Harbor-Fairplain Lions Club, where he has been a member since 1981 and served on the board of directors and as club president. 

Outside of work, Andy spends his free time outdoors as much as he can. His hobbies include taking care of his lawn and vegetable garden, camping, fishing, boating, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is married to his wife Sonya and has a blended family consisting of Erik Menchinger, Aaron & Lindsey Menchinger, Melissa Pajot, Chuck & Carol Lockwitz, Jim & Heidi Lockwitz, and 12 grandchildren.
