James's Obituary
James Archbold, 86, of Dowagiac, MI, formerly of Crown Point, IN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, April 23, at his home in Dowagiac.
James was born September 27, 1938 in Gary, IN to James William Archbold and Nancy (Shipley) Archbold Miklos. After graduating high school, James served in the US Army for 6 years. His career at US Steel spanned over 37 years before retiring as an area manager. He was a member of Hillside Community Church in Crown Point, IN for many years before moving to Michigan. He was also a member of the US Steel Supervisor’s Club, The Gideons’ International, and the American Legion. His hobbies included golfing, bowling and fishing to earn the status of Master Angler.
James will be missed by his wife of 67 years, Rosemary Archbold; 5 daughters, Pamila (Kevin) Perrryman, Natalie (Jon) Whisenand, Jeanette (Robert) Lain, Patty (Mark) Calder, and Cindy (Terrence) Whitehead; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Lysek; and his parents.
The family will celebrate James’ life with a memorial service at 11:00am, on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at First Baptist Church of LaSalle, 200 24th St, LaSalle, IL.
