With deep sorrow and sympathy I express to Janice and the children for the passing of my dearest friend Howard "Andy". We had many good times in high school together and kept in touch over the years. He was truly a good, God-fearing man with a great heart to help others. Andy was a premiere deal maker but learned to save for a rainy day to provide for his family. Andy was a devouted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He would frequently stop by and visit my elderly Father. I know that he will be waiting for us to join him with the Lord.I will miss him very much until then.

Howard was a great guy, worked with him in accounting at Consumers in Jackson. in Accounting. It seemed like yesterday that a few of us went to his house one evening shortly after he transferred to Palisades from Jackson. He would call me from the plant with policy questions and I would conclude he was in a conference with other people at the time. The Lord wanted him home. Hope to see him in the next life. I still have a book of notes written by Howard from his many, many safety tours of the plant - he was a man of many talents and ideas and he always strived to do the "right thing". Thank-you Howard for your guidance and words of wisdom! Your friend, Karyn

We ere shocked to hear of Howards passing. Howard was indeed a true friend. We first met "three piece" in the 70's at Palisades. Howard always had that familiar and wlcome smile. He was a joy to work with. No finance or budget issue was ever to big to solve. He will be truly missed. Our heart and prayers go out to Jan and the family. Jim and Marilyn Rang from Rockledge FL

What a shock to our Church family to lose our Brother Andy. It has been such a joy to watch him grow in the Lord. The "Fruits of the Spirit" were so obvious to all who observed his goings and comings. God will do His job now. One that He does so well--pour out His abundant GRACE to carry you all through this time with joy, peace and comfort. And, Jan, you can know for sure and count on the fact that we, the Church, will take very good care of you and Darcy and Randy! Our family's favorite hymn for many years has been "Jesus Is Coming Soon." I'll share the last verse from that song: "Troubles will soon be o'er, Happy for ever more, When we meet on that shore Free from all cares. Rising up in the sky, Telling this world goodbye, Homeward we then will fly, Glory to share." Much love, Les, Becky, Leslie & Karen

Jan, Todd, Randy, Darcy, Bobby, We are so very sorry. You are in our thoughts and prayers. I have so many fond memories of growing up in Grass Lake and swimming, building floats, and having hay rides at your house. It seems kind of odd that we ended up in the same town, working at the same place. Tim has also told me of the great things he did for our Elks Lodge. I called him Mr. Heavin or Howard, and Tim called him Andy. I could never bring myself to call him Andy. He will be missed.

I am sorry for your loss. I am going to miss my friend Howard. I worked with him for most of the years he worked at Palisades. He was the “money man” and famous for “Howardnomics.” Palisades and the world was a better place with Howard there. He was a very kind and generous person and very proud of his church food pantry. He is surely with God.

Jan and family. I am so sorry for your loss. I worked for Howard for approximately 10 years at Palisades. I live very near you and would see Howard often outside and we always spoke, laughed, and asked how each other were. I would have like to attend his visitation; however, I was whisked away to Miami upon the unexpected death of my 53-year-old sister. My condolences on your loss.

Hi Darcy and Family Sorry to hear about the loss of your family member. Jesus is looking down from heaven and I am sure that he sees and knows what you are going through. I believe that with all of the terrible and sad things happening in our world it is a sign that the Good Lord is soon to return and take us home with him. There in heaven some day we will get to reunite with lost family and loved ones and there will be more happiness and joy in our lives than we can ever begin to imagin. May God continue to bless your lives in more ways than you could ever imagin and get you through this hard and sad time in your life. Your friend in Christ,Mike

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Howard. My husband Larry and I worked many years at Palisades with Howard. Howard and Larry (who died 9/2/2007) were good friends there. They would share good conversation over lunch in the plant cafeteria. Howard came to my husband's funeral and gave me great comfort by his being there. I am so sorry but it wasn't until today 2/19 that I read about Howard's death. Janice, please accept my deepest sympathy. He will be missed. -Lucy
