Everyone is so sorry to hear about Lloyd He was one of the hardest working men we knew. We miss working with him.He had so much knowledge about the History of South Haven as he lived it.

I will miss visiting Lloyd very much as I loved his salty sense of humor, his dignity in the face of his decreasing abilities, his knowledge of WWII, and his love for his family and desire to do right by them.

Since I won't be able to see you in person, I would like to express my deepest sympathy to you, the family of Lloyd. I am deeply saddened by his sudden passing as he had become a dear friend to me during our many visits. I enjoyed meeting those of you whom I did meet during my interaction with Lloyd. Richard and Sue, I know how much Lloyd appreciated his last months living with you, enjoying your good cooking, your pets, your spacious home and yard to relax in, and your caring for him. He also enjoyed the many visits from Susan and other members of his family. My prayers and sympathy are with all of you, Lloyd's family!

We had only gotten to know Lloyd since Jean's death. But he was so full of stories and fun. As "The Mayor of Washington Street" all his neighbors will miss him. The neighborhood just lost its identity. Lloyd and Diane took occasional adventures like a trip to the cemetery to visit Jean's grave and a trip to the Maritime Museum. He was great friend to all birds and pets. There is a dog named Willow who will be joyful to see him!

I was sorry to hear about Lloyd. I've know him, Walt and Jim since my childhood years around the Jensen docks with my dad, Julius Allers. We've lost another piece of history.
