We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Rubin "Tuffy" here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
I wish everyone could have known such a sweet and caring man that he was. He loved his wife from the start and loved her even more when she gave him a beautiful boy. His son Richie grew up to be quite a star in Michigan for his ability in sports, but also was an allstar son to Tuffy. Tuffy was called Tuffy because he was Tuff. If anyone feared for help or danger they knew to call on Tuffy. In everything Richie did his father was there to make sure everything went smooth. Can you imagine having a father named Tuffy?? He was a rock to Richie and thank you for the memories. Richie is lucky to have his Mom and his 3 children and 3 grandchildren. We miss you so very much Ruby Tuesday, but somehow I think you know. When I saw the article about Tuffy's hole in one a few weeks ago, I was reminded of what a fun-loving and passionate man he was. He and Sylvia were frequent visitors in my parent's restaurant in Fennville. Rich and Sylvia -- my deepest condolences to you both. Fondly Jane

They are called the Greatest Generation and Tuffy was one of them. I was just a bat boy for a fast pitch softball team my dad managed in the early 60's when I first met Tuffy. Tuffy backed and supplied equipment from the Moskowitz stores to Frank Moritti's dream team from Pullman. They won some championships together but more than that a life long friendship. I use to meet and talk with Tuffy at the flea markets about the good old times and the new times. Awhile back he told me about his grandson pitching for Georgia with that gleam in this eye he said he a good one. Going to miss you Tuffy....

I remember bowling with Tuffy on "Don's Sport Shop " team at melody Lanes in South Haven for several years. He will be remembered fondly as a fierce competitor and a good friend. I hope this finds everyone well and looking forward , but still having wonderful memories of the time he spent with us. William "Bill" Trent - retired South Haven P.D. Sgt.

My sympathy to Sylvia, Rich and the rest of his Tuffy's family. Tuffy was a fixture in sports as I was playing at Fennville. A special memory of Tuffy was him thinking of me when Basketball season rolled around. Knowing money was tight, on more than one occasion he wanted me to "Try" this new sneaker he was selling at the local clothing store the family ownedR....many great memories of Tuffy from my childhood. He has a special place in heaven.

To Tuffy's family: I read Chris Ballard's "Last Round with Tuffy" in my newest issue of "Sports Illustrated" and wanted to offer my condolences on the loss of your beloved Tuffy. He sounded like a most amazing man. I teach eighth grade language arts at Laurel Nokomis and always turn to the essay at the back first. Again, please accept my condolences on the loss of your loved one. Shari Dembinski, Venice, FL

I have never loved anyone anymore than my grandpa. He was the greatest man I know. I will remember all of the great times we shared together. I know he is in heaven smiling down on all of us. He lived a great life and taught my dad love, compassion, hard work, loyalty and how to be a great father. My dad wouldn't be half as great of a dad if it weren't for my grandpa. I feel so blessed and proud to be his granddaughter. His memory will never die. I love you forever and always gramps. Your girl

Tuffy, was the BEST. He left his BEST WORK BEHIND. That is Richie. When he spoke of Richie, his eyes just sparkled, and a big smile. My Thoughts are with the Jordan Family. Kathryn
