I am so sorry to the entire Shank family for your loss. Mr. Shank was a kind, strong, compassionate, and honest man. He built and maintained not only a farm legacy, but more important - a strong family that is no doubt continuing to improve the world. I will always remember him with great respect.

So sorry for the loss of Vic, we looked up to and respected him. He was a great guy, very insightful, fair, level headed and had a warm smile for all who approached him. His family is in our prayers.

Sorry but not sorry for the long note. Unfortunately we could not make it today due to the weather. Vic and I met when we were in the 7th grade and instantly became friends. We may or may not have gotten into mischief at school or at the Youth Center on a Friday or Saturday night. About this time he would spend the night occasionally at my house so we could get up before 6 and go eat breakfast at Waffle House and then go spend the day floating on the Buffalo River. Vic was with me when I wrecked my first truck when we were 16. I remember getting some late night calls from Vic to go help him and his dad Bill at Razorback Farms when equipment would break down. I enjoyed going with Vic and
his dad to Arkansas Razorback basketball games. For a few years Vic and I would cut and sell firewood in the winter and haul tons of hay in the summer. I remember one time when Vic fell off of the hay truck while were crossing a creek and knocked himself out for a bit. I was able to be a part of Vic and Lisa’s wedding in 1984 and he then came back to Arkansas to be my best man at my wedding with Darla. Darla and I went up to Dowagiac a couple of times. We remember Lisa taking us to the “beach” in Benton Harbor. We prefer the Florida and Alabama beaches however. Vic took us to a nice little cafe in Kalamazoo. We remember Vic walking across the back yard and pulling fresh corn off the stalk and throwing it straight on the grill. We both still tell people that was the best corn we have ever had. We have a picture of Lisa holding our oldest daughter when she was about one and Jeremy was standing on the dining room table why he was about 3. I know Vic loved Lisa, Jeremy, Tori, his grandkids and his friends because he has told me and I have texts, pictures and videos to prove it. Jeremy, I do not envy you because of the big shoes you have been asked to fill in leading the family and the business but I know he had faith in you to do it, you got this!

Lisa our thoughts and prayers for you and the family. Vic was always a hard and dependable worker, him and my son where my hay crew when in high school in Springdale Ark. Was so impressed with the person and the success that he had accomplished . And most of all he was so proud of his family. May God bless you all. Glenn/Jan Canup
