Tim's Obituary

It’s with extreme sadness to announce the passing of Timothy “Tim” Mummaw, 67, of Stevensville, MI on Saturday, February 12th, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Tim was born March 21st, 1954 in Benton Harbor, MI to Donald & Aneita (Hein) Mummaw. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1972. On April 8th, 1978 he married Vanessa Vorrath in Berrien Springs, MI. Tim worked for Benton Electronics for many years. He more recently had the honor of working with his son at Mummaw Construction and son-in-law at Mitchell Lawn Care. Tim was an avid bowler with over 20 perfect 300 games. He loved to bowl with his bowling league buddies. Tim enjoyed water skiing, along with many other activities on Big Crooked Lake in Sister Lakes, MI. He spent countless hours sitting on the deck overlooking the lake and listening to his music. He also loved snowmobiling and snow skiing with his family and friends. For many years, Tim was proud to coach his children’s sports. He was a mentor to many and even referred to as everyone’s “Lake Dad”. Tim will always be remembered for his joyous smile and contagious laugh.

Tim is survived by his wife Vanessa Mummaw; son James (Katie) Mummaw; daughter Jill (Jon) Mitchell; grandchildren Knox and Lainey Mitchell; sister Barbara Lange; and many nieces and nephews. Tim is preceded in death by his parents Donald & Aneita Mummaw and brother-in-law Donald Lange.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, February 17th, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. The family requests all bowlers wear their bowling shirts in memory of Tim. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 18th, 2022 at Grace Lutheran Church, 404 E. Glenlord Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Joshua Bishop officiating. Tim will be laid to rest at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville following the service. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of Tim. Friends wishing to share a memory of Tim for the family may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com
