Robert 's Memory Wall
We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Robert here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
I am saddened to see the passing of Robert listed in the "In Memory Of..." section of our Fall issue of the Engineers News received in yesterday’s mail. As a member of the Michigan Operating Engineers, Robert and I worked just a few jobs together but often met up at the union meetings and mostly talked about turkey and deer hunting, not much shop talk, lol. I was privileged to visit Robert's home one time in 2005, in meeting Evon and in presenting him his 40-year watch as a member of the Operating Engineers Local 324. After my retirement in 2006, and in moving to East Tennessee, Robert and I continued to keep in touch with yearly Christmas Cards and adding a catch up note both ways, I will dearly miss his Christmas Card. Your friend in Brotherhood, John Cobe Operating Engineers Local 324

Thinking of you at this time so many memories we’ve made through the years. Watched Rob and his kids grow up. John loved coming turkey time, and loved it every year when you would come up for the bridge walk. Remembered the year London gait half way and assid she was tired and Bob told her he would give her $5 to finish thank goodness the last half is a down hill walk and she got her $5. If I remember she was only three? One times he would call home a say I’m staying one more day some one would have a ball game. Loved it when the kids would come up and when meal time came Tallon was a much picker eater and London rarly turned anything down. The times When Bob would surprise us and stop in with a friend that belonged to the operators first thing asked was if John had any pickled or smoked fish in the house usual was and out would come the fish and crackers. Any way lots of fun times. Evon thinking of you and the family. MY prayers and thoughts are with you all, I will call you soon. Love Gloria

Dear Evon, My sister and I are so sorry to hear of Robert’s passing. We have always remembered you for your kindness to our Mother as she got older (Jean Bush), and for the kindness you showed me when I had my health scare ten years ago. You’re one of the “best”, and Robert was fortunate to have you to care for him. Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with you and you family at this time. May all the good memories of him serve to comfort you . We know he will be missed. Karen Stewart and Linda Bielik.
