Louis's Obituary
Louis Stanley Nuechterlein, 82, of Saint Joseph, Michigan, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024, at his home. Louis was born April 6, 1941, in Saint Joseph, MI to Winfred “Doc” & Leola (Kelm) Nuechterlein. He graduated from Lutheran Ministerial high school in Milwaukee, WI, and continued his education by earning his Bachelors of Arts from Michigan State University, and Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit. He worked for the State of Illinois, retiring from the Department of Revenue after 25 years of employment. Following his retirement, Louie enjoyed tending to his flower and vegetable gardens, mowing his lawn, selling hot dogs with his wife Ursula, and spending time at the Point O Woods Country Club. Additionally, he loved being in Florida with his wife Ursula, and was a die-hard University of Michigan football fan. However, most recently what gave him the most joy was spending time with all his grandchildren.
Louis is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Ursula Nuechterlein; children, Dr. Jennifer (Dr. Brandon) Snyder, Joshua (Adrien) Nuechterlein, Mitchell Halperin; grandchildren, Elle, Cole, & Conner Snyder and Kyle & Kinley Nuechterlein; siblings, Joan Seevers, Carol (Bob) Jenske, Warren (Gail) Nuechterlein, & Karen (Paul) Rooker; and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfred “Doc” & Leola and sister, Sharon Moore.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services.
