Kirk's Memory Wall
We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Kirk here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
We loved being greeted by Kirk's smile every summer! He loved seeing the "camp people" and made everyone at Lake of the Woods & Greenwoods Camp feel welcome. He will be missed. Wishing his family and friends peace and comfort in the days ahead.

Kirk was an amazing guy and he will be truly missed! He may of been a pain in the butt sometime but there wasn’t nothing he wouldn’t do for you! I will truly miss him joking around with me and how he would tell me about his life… I miss you Kirk and Decatur won’t be the same without u. I’ll miss seeing you around town and you waving and yelling at me… rip Kirk

My brother from another mother. I will miss your daily texts and calls. We grew old and had to communicate by phones .You will be missed by my whole family. May you rest in peace and free of pain you've earned it.

I met Kirk on my very first day working in Decatur. What a Character! We'd chat about current events and 70's music. One day he asked, "Did I ever show you my Monkey? Do you want to see my Monkey?" GASP! But willing to play along I said OK...Sure enough out of his bag he dug a couple of old photos of himself holding a little monkey! Haha. And Phew! He had a good sense of humor that will always be remembered. Godspeed, Kirk!

Kirk was an icon. He was well liked, well known, loved by many, and now missed by all that knew him. The town of Decatur won’t be the same without him. Rest easy Kirk! Your humor and craziness will be remembered forever!

I am sorry to hear about Kirk. I saw him often at the library. He would always ask how my baby was doing. He would then chuckle when I would tell him how old the baby is. Almost 12 now. Rest in peace, Kirk.

Kirk was a best friend, I spoke to Kirk almost everyday, if I was sick at home he would send a Text making sure I was ok. He was always asking about my kids how they did in there sports games. We would tell jokes, you would know if he was around with his whistle, or his whoing. He had so much knowledge and he would have us look it up on our phones to find a definition for him. My kids enjoyed talking to him when we seen him out in public or by his apartment. I have alot of memories and it is so unreal that we won't have more memories. I know he was in alot of pain and he is now at rest and peace. I will truly miss Kirk and he will always be in my thoughts. Love you Kirk.

I am so sad to hear about Kirk's passing! I was not only his waitress, but I was also his secretary, his boss, his friend and most of all one of his biggest fans! I have so many memories, I just don't have time to share. I know life wasn't always the kindest to Kirk, but I do know that he is now at peace. Our town will never be the same! Love ya my friend! Till we meet again!
