I just happened to read his obituary and his name rang a bell. Elaine is a first cousin once removed of my Uncle Jack Harroff. I grew up with my Uncle Jack & Aunt Virginia Harroff in Buchanan Twp. My aunt got me hooked on family history and I have been carrying on her with her records.
I think I remember them talking about Ken & Elaine over the years. I am so sorry for your family's loss but he sounds like a wonderful man May he rest in peace with our Lord.

Our heartfelt condolences to the entire Sabasty families. Sr., Jr. & I had many great conversations (and lunch’s) together over the years. I looked forward to them stopping by my office or me going to the farm. He was a great farmer who worked tirelessly , and leaves a great legacy. ……. “.Ar dheis De go raibh an enam dilis”.

Lots of great memories. One's that stand out ? I was in Jr High school, no license, driving past Kens house every day, trying to farm my grandmothers farm 4 miles up the road, while my dad was fighting cancer. I was no stranger to operating equipment all day long, but there were many decisions to be made on a daily basis about farming that I didn't know. So, I figure I'll stop in to talk to Kenny every morning, giving him a progress report and ask for advice. Anyone who knew Kenny, knew he had lights on all his equipment, so he could work late into the night, and sleep in most mornings. Until, that is, I started dropping in at 6:30am with my truck with No mufflers... Elaine would be the first to arise, and let me in, and several attempts later she had Kenny up. She was always so gracious, offering me a nice breakfast while we waited for Kenny to present himself, and we would have breakfast together, talking about our plans for the day, and instilling that precious advice upon me. Memories that are 52 years old, that are as vivid, and as important to me today as they were back then. Godspeed Kenny, your new journey awaits you...
