The last time I saw Mrs. Genovese was when she came over for a house visit to give my dad his last haircut. She was as lively and vivacious as when I first met her back in the 80's, chatting with my mom and cooing over my dad. Somehow, she magically transferred her smile onto dad's face. Thank you Jean for taking care of us for the past several decades. Your memory will be a blessing.

I had nearly fifty years with Jean as my hairdresser, confidante and friend. This area had better hire more therapists now that she is gone. I know I was not the only one that benefited from her loyalty, encouragement and honest empathy. And we laughed, oh we laughed! I took an elderly friend (hah she was 80 to our 60'ishes) to Jean for a cut and style. She admitted to trimming her own hair, to which Jean came back quickly "with what, nail clippers"?!! I will always be thankful that I told her I loved her as I left her home in July after a cut and visit. I will miss her. A lot.

Jean was always so cheerful. I first met her at the salon. At one time our kids went to the same day care (Sharie S.), and eventually went to school together. I hope all your wonderful memories will give you some comfort during this difficult time of loss.

So sad to see Jean's obituary. I shared so much with her over the years. We laughed and talked at the beauty salon like we were sisters! I told her everything. She knew things about me that my friends and family didn't! I miss her every time I drive down Napier.
