We are so sorry to hear of Mr Giles passing. We had the pleasure of sitting around the campfire in the early morning hours while Maureen was staying in the cottage next to ours. He told us wonderful stories and was such a classy gentleman. We will remember him fondly. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

My condolences to the entire family. The kids in our family went to school with numerous kids in the family. Mr and Mrs Giles were always customers I looked forward to waiting on at Rexalls. Mr Giles was a kind and polite person. After meeting and getting to know him as a customer I learned to understand where the kids got their outgoing personality. I am truly sorry to see he has passed. May the family be comforted with God's care and may he RIP

Growing up neighbors to Mr. & Mrs. Giles was a blessing. They were original neighborhood surveillance long before electronic devices existed. I can still picture the two of them sitting on their porch. They were hard workers, funny, very strict and yet compassionate. As a kid it seemed they were frequently entertaining or throwing a party with their constant house full of guests and tables always lined with food. As an adult I grew to realize yes it was in part due to their large family, but the reality is they always welcomed friends and loved embracing their community. They were true examples of unconditional love to many, including me. A sometimes bratty kid that throughly enjoyed raising havoc with their grandkids. We spent many days either hiding from the Giles surveillance on Michigan Avenue or joining them inside their house knowing we all were so loved. I am incredibly grateful to have had Mr. & Mrs. Giles as neighbors, but also to have been embraced by their family in a life chapter many years ago. My condolences to all of you. May you too be comforted by imagining he’s now reunited with Mary Alice, sitting beside her on heavens porch.
