Eldon 's Memory Wall
We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Eldon here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
I couldn't have said it any better than Rosie's tribute. Being guided by him as a student tech and then as a fellow tech at what he called The Big House, his philosophy to us to always work at deciding and doing right by our patients and each other. The stories of being a tech years ago before he became a manager were interesting when listening to him. I know he is in a peaceful place now. My prayers reach out to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He touched many many lives while here with us.

My name is Rosie Wesolowski. I am a Radiology Nurse and worked with Eldon over 25 years. He was a Great Boss and Friend. A TRIBUTE TO ELDON GEYER Eldon Geyer was a Very Special Man, And an Honor to Know, He was Kind and Compassionate and We All loved him so. He was a Radiology Manager, And Shared his Wisdom with "Style." And worked hard with his Employees, While he still kept a Smile. He was very Professional, But still liked to have fun, And Always Praised his Employees for a Job Well Done. Some days were very Busy, Many hours Over we would stay, Then Eldon would bring in Doughnuts, To Brighten up our Day. He kept his sense of humor, Even though he was feeling ill, A man that was Highly Admired, And No Shoes Could Ever Fill. God Bless Eldon's Wife Sherry, Whom Eldon loved with Great Compassion and Pride, While She Graciously Cared for him, And Stayed Close to his side. Eldon gave us Inspiration and left us A little Smarter, A little Wiser, And Gave Us Courage and God's Blessings that Overflowed like a Cup, And Taught Us to Be Kind To Each Other, And Never Give Up. Eldon was a Man Of God, And Sorrow his Friends and Family will Face, But At God'sThrone In Heaven, He Has Been Given A Special Place! May the Lord Comfort Sherry and Her Family During This Difficult time. My Prayers are with You.

Eldon hired me twice…..first in 1976 as a part-time darkroom tech at Mercy Hospital while I was in x-ray school and then as a rad tech when I graduated. He gave me a solid start to a successful 40 year radiology career. Eldon had a strong work ethic that was focused on what was best for the patient. He was a good teacher and he made sure x-ray students had a meaningful clinical experience. Eternal rest grant unto Eldon, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

I had to dry my tears and smile when I saw Eldon’s photo yesterday. I will never forget that smile. We saw it every day, whether in conversation, just passing in the hallway, telling one of his many hilarious stories, or deep into a prank! (There were a “few” of those!) He was my mentor, teacher, boss and friend, and I owe my career to him. He led my path and I will be forever grateful to, and for, him. We worked hard, but there was always a camaraderie with us all. He was the best boss I ever had. I’ll always remember those times. Peace to you, Eldon, in your heavenly rest.

Eldon served our medical community for many years. He was a leader in his field, trained many radiology professionals, and worked wonderfully with physicians, hospital staff, and patients. He made a difference in our community.

Whether he saw you on the street or when he was at work, he always made time to come over and say Hi, always ready to pitch in and help. RIP neighbor you deserve a rest.

I have many fond and fun memories of Eldon. I attended church with him from the time I was a little girl and then had the privilege of having him hire me for my first Radiology position at Mercy Hospital. He always expected only the highest quality work from his staff and helped guide me to a level of excellence I wouldn’t have achieved without his high expectations! Though he ran a “tight ship”, he ALWAYS made room for humor and fun in the radiology department. His wry sense of humor and quick whit will be something I will always remember. Rest peacefully, my friend, you have earned it!
