Danny's Obituary
He was born on April 30th, 1953 and raised in South Haven, Michigan where he graduated high school. Danny asked Donna to dance at Pebblewood Country Club, they married and together raised three children. Danny was a dedicated family man and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Donna Jean Hartmann, his son Daniel Christopher Hartman, his daughter Laura Jean Hartmann and daughter-in- law Carly Hartmann. He is also survived by siblings; Patrick Hartmann, Patrice Hartmann (Ivo Rabel), Kathy Hartmann, Dennis (Shelly) Hartmann and Annie Hartmann.
He is preceded in death by his son Joseph Daniel Hartmann, parents Patrick and Lorraine Hartmann, brother Jim Hartmann, sister-in-law Cindy Hartmann and brother-in-law Norm Fouts.
While a horticulturist by profession, Moon's heart belonged to the soil. He considered himself a farmer, happiest when nurturing plants and generously sharing his extensive knowledge with anyone who showed an interest. His passion for the plant kingdom was evident in his specializations: blueberries, small fruit plants, and Michigan native plants. Danny's dedication to his field led him to obtain multiple patents, constantly striving to push the boundaries of horticultural understanding.
Beyond his green thumb, Danny was a man of many talents and passions. A gifted musician and singer, he could pick up almost any instrument, but his true loves were the guitar and piano. Many a joyful evening was spent with Danny at karaoke nights, on the dance floor, or simply listening to music. His culinary skills were equally impressive. He loved nothing more than to be in the kitchen or manning the grill, creating delicious meals and memories for his beloved family and friends.
Danny's curiosity and compassion extended far beyond his garden and kitchen. He traveled internationally, consulting on agricultural practices and making friends wherever he went. He possessed a genuine interest in the lives and well-being of others, leaving a positive impact on countless individuals. His love extended to his family, his many dear friends, and his loyal dogs.
From the sandy shores of Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, to the rugged beauty of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Danny and Donna cherished road trips and the open road. These journeys reflected his adventurous spirit and his deep appreciation for the diverse landscapes of the world.
