I can not fathom your loss. Ann was one of those people that leaves an indelible mark on you showing us how to live life to the fullest each day with such optimism and energy despite how she may have been struggling personally. Her science was impecable, her passion was infectious, her wit was appreciated, her love all embracing. I will miss her as I know many others will who had their lives touched by Ann even in small ways. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers. I wish for you to be enveloped in peace and comfort. Know that Ann's legacy will always be with you and us.

It was an honor to know wonderful Ann. Only she could have told me that my favorite lake - Lake Michigan - actually torques. Rest in Peace, Rise in Glory.

Oh my- feeling such sadness as I hear this news. My heart goes out to all of Ann's family. Ann and I are about the same age and we knew each other for over 30+ years as our growing water careers paralleled. I so fondly recall the many phone calls where we discussed phytoplankton, but more importantly were our ruminations about life and family! She was a beautiful human and I will miss her. My love and blessings to her family--she spoke of you with such fondness and love always.

To my Uncle Jeff and cousins Megan, Greg, Joe, and Katie (and their partners and kids): I am so sorry you are going through the loss of your mom, my Aunt Ann, and I’m so sorry Steph and I weren’t able to make it to Michigan for the funeral. You all—including (and maybe especially) Ann—went out of your way to make us feel loved and included in the family and I hope you are feeling us loving you back from far away in Oklahoma.

It goes without saying that Ann was a wonderful person, That was why I always reffered to her as Saint Ann St. Amand. She was always available to help. The list of activities she volunteered to was very Looong! She influenced many of the young people in the community. She was a great Mom (with a great husband too!).Their children are an asset to the world. Also really darned smart! Ann created the job she always wanted with Phytotech. She was a train that was hard to stop, an admirable women!

Ann was one of my best friends in high school. Her kindness and integrity were matched by her sense of humor, and we shared many nights laughing until our cheeks hurt. Although we moved to different states, and marriage and family kept us busy, we were able to stay in touch, and I am so proud of the things she accomplished. Prayers to her family for comfort and peace.

We extend our sincere condolences to Dr. St. Amand's Family and colleagues. Her contributions will remain legendary, and the innumerable times that she assisted those of us in the drinking water field will not be forgotten.

I work for the Illinois EPA. Dr. Ann was kind, extremely knowledgeable, and a stalwart in helping water supply folks learn how to combat harmful algal blooms. I feel lucky to have attended one of her seminars. She will be missed.

Ann will be dearly missed by so many. I was blessed to work with Ann for over 12 years as a Band Diva and a fellow Music Mom. She gave tirelessly and generously - and encouraged us all to want to do the same. She taught me so much about our world and how to care for it. We worked along side of each other and her smiles and humor made easy work of long hot summer Band Camp days - and cold rainy Band Competitions! I am so saddened that the world has lost Ann, but I feel so blessed and privileged to have shared time with her. May God Grant her Blessed Peace.
