Ed was a loving, compassionate, intelligent, friendly, hard working, fun loving, solid Christian who lived the Christian life. He loved his family, was loyal to his friends, and loved his country. He was the youngest brother out of 4 brothers, and liked to introduce me to his friends this way, " This is my sister, Jean, from Virginia. I'm her younger brother". No matter that he was a number of years older than me! That's how he came to be called (by me) my 'baby brother'. I will cherish the precious memories of my beloved baby brother always.......

To the entire Bocock Family, I am saddened to hear of Ed's passing and I will always have fond memories of a life well lived. Even when "Mr. Bocock" was holding me accountable for my sketchy behavior, which was often, I knew the consequences were for my own good. I will remember Ed's smile, his warm approach and his sincere interest in others. Our prayers go out to all of you during this difficult time.

Bob and I were deeply saddened to hear of your loss. It was always a joy to be in the presence of Ed,. He always had a twinkle in his eye, a grin on his face and of course his charming southern drawl. How fortunate South Haven schools were to have Ed be a leader for administrators, teachers, and students for so many years. Ed was always supportive, had a positive attitude and we are honored to have called him a friend. Please know all of you are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult.

Dear Bococks, I am so sorry for your great loss. Mr. Bocock was a wonderful man. I will be forever grateful that he put up with all the horse shenanigans among Carrie, myself, and the Geneva Wrens 4Hers. He will be sincerely missed - not only by his family, but also by the community as a whole. All of my interactions with Ed were wonderful and he always had a smile on his face and exuded kindness from his heart. He was a legend among men! My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Ed was one of the most remarkable men I have ever know. i could not have asked for or even imagined a better brother. I never heard him raise his voice or express anger toward anyone. He was always the perfect gentleman. He married an amazing woman and raised wonderful children.. I will always cherish the memories we made growing up and the thrill at the thought of him coming home when he had moved away. This world was truly made a better place by his presence.

To the Bocock family. I am sorry to hear of the loss of such a quality individual. Always upbeat, always positive and above all, always smiling with the great twinkle in is eyes. The last time I saw Ed we stood in Meijer and he told me of his diagnosis and was still upbeat and wanted, more than anything, to know how my life was going. He was the administrator at CMS when I started teaching and he was a great mentor. He taught me the value of patience and a smile when confronting difficulties in the classroom. A lesson that served me well for 30 years. May you all find peace with your memories of Ed and may he RIP. Condolences...

Years ago at the "old" First Baptist church, the Bococks used to sit in front of us at church. Our youngest ( 4yrs. at the time) was quite smitten by Mr. Bocock and would often ask if he could sit with them. Ed always obliged. Years later when he graduated high school he wanted to invite Ed to his open house. Cherished memory of a fine man and role model. Hugs to the entire family!

The true mark of a Christian......is not the name or the claim; but to be Christ-like. Ed Bocock epitomized that as much as anyone we ever knew. In his rare moments of frustration, he simply said, "Honestly"'. A valued friend for some 60 years, and loyal colleague for over 30 years, I was fortunate to have Ed succeed me in every administrative job I ever held. Unfortunately, I can't reciprocate; he is irreplaceable.

To the Bocock Family, I am sorry for your loss. Ed was an administrator when I was hired into the South Haven Schools. His patience with working with the new hires was amazing, as we sat through staff development once a month and acted like students! He always had a smile and his soft spoken way taught us all the importance of patience. He was a wonderful person.

I met Mr. Bocock in 6th grade at Central School. My teacher was Ron Robinson, who was a good friend of his. This was about 1963. Our classrooms were next to each other and there was an empty room nearby that was called the "whodunit room" for somewhat obvious reasons. I remember going to the whodunit room (with several of my classmates) with Mr. R and Mr. B after some kind of transgression. No one would confess or tell on the actual guilty party (6th grade code of honor) so several of us received the wrong end of a paddle that day. It was truly a badge of honor. I loved those guys! About 22 years later, Mrs. Bocock was my son's kindergarten teacher and he thrived in her class. RIP Mr. B. You made a difference.
