Fredric Scott's Obituary

Fredric “Farmer” Scott Ruell, age 56, of South Haven, died Friday, September 29, 2006 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. He was born May 15, 1950 in South Haven, MI to Eldon and Blanche (Kirchner) Ruell. He is a South Haven High School Graduate of 1968 and a Michigan Tech University Alum. Fred worked at Palisades Nuclear Plant from 1979 until he became ill. He was a proud union member of Local 150 Utility Workers Union of America and served as Financial Secretary for many years. Fred was a devoted man, not only to his family, but also the family’s fruit farm. A loving father, son, brother and friend, you never caught Fred without a smile.

He was preceded by his father in l988.

He is survived by his son-Cory Ruell of Royal Oak, MI, his daughter-Lyndsay Ruell of East Lansing, MI., his mother Blanche Ruell of South Haven, MI., and his sister Elaine Ruell of South Haven, MI.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 3 from 1 – 3 P.M. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 P.M. The family encourages anyone who would like to share a memory to do so at that time. Memorial contributions can be made to Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo or the Carcinoid Syndrome Foundation.
