Julia Skuza

Julia C. Skuza, 83, of South Haven went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 6 at the South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. She is at peace.

Julia was born March 24, 1924 in Chicago Hts, Illinois to Josef and Gabriella Cialkowski. She married Charles Skuza on Oct. 2, 1943 in Chicago Heights, IL. Julia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Scott Club. She was also a devoted member of the Church of the Epiphany where she served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, Altar Guild member and Bible study leader.

Julia is preceded in death along with parents by her husband – Charles H. Skuza in 1988.

She is survived by two sons – Charles H. (Barbara) Skuza Jr. of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Barry (Diane) Skuza of South Haven, Michigan. One daughter - Susan (Phil) Johnson of Ada, Michigan. Ten grandchildren – Mark (Kim) Johnson, Dana (Bill) Carter, Peter (Carrie) Johnson, Alicia Skuza, Dr. Hilary (Ben) Lane, Emily Skuza, Tracie Skuza, Joseph Skuza, Andrew Skuza and Daniel Skuza. Seven great grand children. Two sisters – Irene Cesarz of Beecher, IL and Jean Ezzell of St. Petersburg, FL. One brother – Dr. Edward Cialkowski of South Holland, IL. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 10 from 12 – 2 at the Church of the Epiphany Episcopal Church funeral services will begin Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at the church with The Reverend Mother Rebecca Crise officiating. The Committal Rites will be presented by The Reverend Father Andrew Gross at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to We Care or to a charity of your choice.
