Paul Allen's Obituary
Paul Allen Cooper, 88, of South Haven died Monday, January 5 at South Haven Community Hospital.
He was born August 15, 1920 in Pangburn, Arkansas to Thomas and Martha (Massie) Cooper. Paul served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Thelma Tolley on April 12, 1941 in Arkansas. Paul worked for Everett Piano Company in South Haven for 34 years retiring in 1982.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his son – John Cooper who died in 1967. Three sister and two brothers also precedes him.
He is survived by his wife – Thelma Cooper of South Haven, Michigan. 4 sons – Paul (Lee) Cooper of Mosquero, New Mexico, Dan (Virginia) Cooper of West Olive, Michigan, Nathaniel (Tammy) Cooper of Gassville, Arkansas, and Andrew (Regina) Cooper of Allegan, Michigan. 6 daughters - Martha (Harvey) Pratt of Stevensville, Michigan, Priscilla (Richard) Meyer of Cannon City, Colorado, Ruth (Tom) Irwin of Belden, New Mexico, Faith (Ben) Bowen of Plainwell, Michigan. Mary (Victor) Arias of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Esther Cooper of Muskegon, Michigan. 22 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. 1 sisters – Lottie Haitt of South Haven, Michigan. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be from 6-8 on Thursday, January 8 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor David Meister and Pastor George Fleming officiating. Burial will take place at McDowell Cemetery, Casco Township.
