Gus you will be so missed. You were such a generous person. The reunions at the lake and being able to share so many holidays together are some of my favorite memories. God Bless you Peg

Gus, You are forever in my memory as one of the great adults of my childhood. Thank you for putting up the tent in the woods for the four of us young ladies to make many happy memories! I cherish all those wonderful days.

Gus was truly an asset to the fruit industry, a leader and helpful friend to all who came to know him. His demeaner and manorism were a part of his overall personality and character that made a lasting impression on those who met him. Michigan agriculture and fruit industry has lost a significant part of its heritage.

I will forever cherish the interest that Gus took in me as a new staff member of the MSU fruit team. He was always willing to help me learn and grow. There are so many great stories I have heard about Gus over the years from my fruit growers. He taught them so much more than βwhat bug is this and how do I kill itβ. His impact on the fruit industry in Michigan is legendary.

His publications are still one of the greatest resources we have in the county office. I didnt know you personally, but I sure do appreciate the knowledge that you shared with all of us.

Many fond merories of working with Gus and Al. Gave him a 16 acre block of orchard for his experiments in mite control.Believe it his first year at M.S U. He always referred to my farm as his first station. Will long cherish the autographed book he wrote on insect control.Hand delivered it before it was realesed.Kidded me that our bugs were the hardest to kill in the state.Any and all who knew him can boast about the fact he was a Loyal and Trusted Friend.

Gus was a great man. I use to help my dad mow his law when I was younger. He always seemed to be happy, I'm sure he still is:)
