Frank "Larry"'s Obituary

Frank “Larry” Maxwell, 73, of South Haven died Tuesday, April 5, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo.

He was born November 6, 1937 in Bell Oak, Michigan to Frank G. and Thelma (Smith) Maxwell. Frank married Lois Kohloff. He worked in Law Enforcement as a State Trooper for more than 25 years retiring in 1991. Frank was an avid outdoorsman and a member of the Pheasants Forever and the VanBuren Sportsman Club. He was also the past commodore of the River Bend Boat Club. His warm, friendly smile and constant pranks will be missed. In later years, the reaction to his flowing hair and beard brought him and others much joy.

He is preceded in death along with his parents by his daughter – Cindy Maxwell and sister – Joan Maxwell.

He is survived by his wife – Lois Maxwell of South Haven, Michigan. Four children – Bob Maxwell of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Ken (Kathy) Maxwell and Kurt (Stacy) Maxwell both of South Haven, Michigan and Lynnsy (Betsy) Lawton, Michigan. Eight grandchildren. One brother – Pete Maxwell of Holt, Michigan and sister - Jackie Hibbard of Webberville, Michigan.

A private family service has taken place. Burial was at Monks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan, 5473 Croyden Kalamazoo, Michigan 49006.
