My family and I knew Mark well. In fact, he once lived with my family. I will be glad to see him in Heaven some day. Sincerely Earl Grandstaff

Mark, my little brother, I have so many memories of our childhood. I was always so proud of you. I never told you that. You was the best of us all. You were so good, gentle, and kind. You had such a pure heart. Your love for the Lord made you glow. You were so happy. I am so thankful that you and Denise found each other. Your life was cut way too short. My condolence is that you knew love and you knew the Lord. I know you are in heaven. I have no doubt. I have to smile at the thought of you flying around with your new wings. This is not goodbye, this is not where it ends. I will see you again little brother. I love you!

Mark and I became pen pals when we were teenagers. He lived in Missouri when we first started writing. Then he was in Quincy, IL and was not happy living there at all. He came for a visit to Michigan and he moved here. Found him his first efficiency apartment on Bond St. in Niles and he started working at Silverbrook. Once he truly got settled here he kinda vanished. Saw him at Meijer once and he told me he was married and such. He helped care for my dad at Riveridge Nursing Home after dad had to stay there a bit after knee replacement. Wish I could find the pics I have of us from the early 90s. Was shocked when I saw his obit....he was a good guy.
