Barb and I are so sorry for your loss. Doug and I go way back to the old Conybeare office days when I was one of the associates. It was Doug who recruited me from the Cass County Prosecutors office. We had many good times and Doug was always available to answer questions about our cases. Bill Klein.

Words can’t express how sad I am to get the news about Doug. I have such great memories of the times we spent shooting trap and sporting clays, talking about our love for cool old cars and motorcycles . I loved discussing history and having a beer with Doug.
Doug also gave me great legal advice for my business .
Rest In Peace my Friend.
Condolences to Ferol and the family.

I worked under Doug for almost !8 years. We had some memorable times as well as some disagreements....I can attest that he was perhaps the best trial attorney I ever met. So disciplined, organized, and intelligent!! His legacy will be remembered by me and many others. Rest in peace Doug..... Hep me!!

Dear Ferol, Lizzie, Kiki, and Michael
We are so very sorry to hear of your loss. Our hearts and prayers are with you.
We especially appreciated how welcoming Doug always was to us at family events and tailgates in A2. As avid Michigan fans ourselves (go Blue!) , we always enjoyed talking with him about A2 and the Wolverines.
In sympathy

Sharon and I were shocked to learn that Doug passed and at such a young age. We both worked with him for many years and have only fond memories. He was competent, but more than that he was honorable, friendly and always had that smile. We will miss him.

I met Doug about 25 years ago at Berrien County Sportsman’s Club. He was a fine shot, a great buddy and he had a tremendous sense of humor! I treasure the times we went up to the Mark Saloon after shooting. A dull day was always made brighter when you were around Doug. I always loved how proud he was of his family! He was a Man’s man but his love for his family knew no bounds. He was a friend, a mentor and a wonderful guy. I wish I could have one more conversation with him and tell him those thing. May God bless his family and all who knew him.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Doug’s passing. He was always well prepared and an excellent attorney that I had the privilege to work with for far to short of a time. Most of all he was a fun person to be with and I always enjoyed his comments.
Please know I am thinking of you at this difficult time. Dave Peterson

Doug was my friend. I know that I am only one of many friends he had. Funny though, you always felt when you were with him that you were his only friend. During the last years of his life I was privileged to spend time with him and share our lives. He was a proud husband, father and grandfather. I will always hold my time with him in a special place in my memories.

Ferol, Lizzie, KiKi, Michael and the entire Allen family, I am so sorry.
Doug was such a wonderful man. He was not only family to me, he was a great friend and I will miss him very much.
We had several traditions but one I will miss most is Christmas martinis by the fireplace where he was a master at producing great fires. Just last week he reminded me we were
Going to try to have one this Christmas.
I love you all.
