It was so shocking and saddening to learn of Jeff’s passing. It was an honor to be his friend. We shared innumerable lunches over the years which were so enjoyable. He was an exemplary person. My sincere condolences go out to Micki and to all family members.

I feel so fortunate to have worked with Jeff for 17 years. He really loved being a dentist and was loved and respected by 3 generations of some families. Jeff possessed the spirit of service. He served his country, his community, his local and state dental societies with professionalism and class. He was very generous to his staff and provided educational opportunities to help us be our best. Jeff loved and adored his Micki and his family and I know you will miss him as we all will. I hope it comforts you to know he once told Lyle and I that he had no regrets and had enjoyed a great life. I'm happy and proud to have known this kind and empathetic man. God bless you. Judy

Micki, Christine, Jennifer and Family— even though I didn’t work “for” Jeff, I was a coworker in the same office for many years. I have always had the utmost respect for Jeff not only for the highest caliber of dentistry that he performed, but for the way he warmly treated everyone he interfaced with. He was a people person and a family man. He was the consummate professional. I loved his teaching moments and his willingness to help at all times. Part of me passed with him. I pray you all will find strength, comfort and peace in your memories and knowledge that he is now healthy and that you will be reunited with him someday.

Micki, I was so saddened to hear of Dr. Schmidt's passing. He was a truly loving and caring person and employer. I remember coming to the office on a Monday morning and finding "forensic remains" on the counter. I was shocked. When he came in, he was so sorry for having left them there. He couldn't apologize enough. He was so concerned for me. He was such a wonderful man. I will always remember him with fond and loving memories. He really was one of a kind. My heart goes out to you and your family. May God give you comfort and peace, and fill your days with happy memories. I know the power of prayer and the love and support of family and friends. I know you will be uplifted. Love and peace be with you.

Dear Mickey and family: Linda and I were both surprised and saddened to read of Jeff's death. He was both our dentist and friend for decades. He always had a smile and his office exuded his warmth as soon as you walked in. After his retirement our paths crossed several times out in the community and our talks always centered around our last trips and future planned trips. He will indeed be missed but remain in our memories. Please accept our condolences.

We are heartbroken to lose one of the finest people we have ever known. Jeff was excellent in everything from his dentistry, to his relationships with people. to his impeccable dress code. He embodied the true meaning of a scholar and a gentleman. We loved the 20 years of vacations we spent together, hundreds of dinners both in St Jo, Chicago as well as St.Martin.
We will miss you Jeff

BJ and I am very sorry for your loss. I enjoyed reading Jeffrey's biographical narrative online. He clearly led a full life, with lots of support along the way from the family. It was a pleasure to meet him, and be delighted in the family hospitality, even though it was just the one visit. May you find the love and joy of life that he shared with you forever.

So sad to hear the passing of Dr. Schmidt he was a wonderful person and a great dentist. Dr. Schmidt became our family
dentist when he first started out over by Mercy Hospital and even before my husband and I got married. We both had Dr.
Schmidt before we even met. He was our dentist until he retired. Our kids had him and my daughter's family also had
him. He was always so kind and caring we will miss him. Our condolences goes out to his family. May the God of all comfort
be your peace and joy as you look back on a life well lived. So Sorry!

I remember when Jeff was asked to help identify people killed in the 911 attack . He came back and told our Sunday School about how horrific this work was, but it needed to be done so families of missing people could get closure. Jeff was always a very compassionate man, but this experience touched him deeply. I will never forget that day at Sunday School. Sincere condolences to your family❤️🙏🏻

I have such fond memories of Jeff working with him in his dental practice. I was fortunate to stay in touch with him and Micki over the years. Jeff and Micki were an amazing couple and had the opportunity to experience life together for 55 years. I enjoyed his stories about Chris and Jennifer and later about their families. He will truly be missed by many.

This is a sad loss to us all and especially to his lovely family. I remember Jeff, Dr. Schmidt, being such a gracious volunteer in the classroom and how easily he was able to answer questions posed by children, and how much he enjoyed them. We will carry these fond memories.

Dr. Schmidt, was a kind person.
I was always scared, so I would get him laughing, which relaxed me.
May God be with his Family and his Friends.
