I remember Phil from The Berrien County Youth Fair. He was so kind and funny! I knew him and his family through our neighbor Dennis Baab. He was 3 years younger than me, Phil was so nice , funny and sweet that I really enjoyed being around him! His family is in my thoughts and prayers! Sue (Brown) Potter

I just saw Phil not long ago and we talked about his kids and grandson. He was very proud of them. We talked about when his son, Adam and my son, Evan played sports together. We always enjoyed talking to him at games years ago.Fun times. So sorry to hear he is gone. Prayers to your family. Gone too soon.

I knew Phil for almost 19 years working at Walmart. For the past few years working in fresh cap, I got to know him better. He always started his day with a cup of coffee followed with a "Good Morning America!" as he greeted myself or any of our team. He took pride in his job and it showed, the fresh meat wall was always full during his shift. When i found out he passed, it hit me hard. He was like family to me. I'll miss the little tunes he would scat while walking around or working in the back. He loved to sneak up on me and scare me if he could, and i would return the favor. He loved to talk about his family, his dog, hunting and fishing. We talked about everything. I'm really going to miss him. He was a good guy and a good friend. Mandy Dion

Please accept our sympathies on the loss of Phillip. I have known him since he was a teenager in the old neighborhood. He was a nice person, always a lot of fun.

I can't believe Uncle Phil is gone. Doesn't seem real. My prayers go out to Adam, Melanie and family. Love you guys! Uncle Phil was such a personality, so fun and social. I'll never forget all the times he came up behind me in Walmart and scared me, and then proceeded to talk my ears off. :-) He was one of a kind and I'm going to miss him so, so much.

Adam, Alyssa, Melanie, Wyatt, and The Byrdak Family,
Tim and I were so saddened to hear of Phil’s passing. He was such a dickens and I will miss his quick wit and his waves as he traveled by our house. He was always good for fun facts when I would see him at Walmart.
Sending you big hugs and lots of love ❤️
