William's Obituary

William (Bill) Stanislawski of Bangor, Michigan passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022 in his home. He was born on March 28, 1951 in South Haven to Edwin and Dolores Stanislawski. On February 16, 1994 he was united in marriage to JoAnn Copeland in Belize.

Bill graduated from Bangor High School and attended Western Michigan University where he received a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. He had numerous careers including insurance agent, Christmas tree broker, business owner, and proud member of Millwrights Local 1102. He was a longtime resident of Bangor and a very active community member. He served on multiple committees and boards in the city of Bangor including the Lion’s Club, the Downtown Development Authority, City Council and played a key role with city officials that brought the Amtrak stop to Bangor. He was also a member of Son of the American Legion.

Bill is described as being “One of a Kind” and always the life of the party. He was a family man never missing a chance to visit with them. He enjoyed cutting wood, breakfast with his local friends and taking long drives including fall color tours. Bill was full of adventure and loved to travel. He played an active role in his grandchildren’s life as “Papa Bill”.
He is survived by his wife JoAnn, daughters Jennifer (Joe) Parman, Tabitha (Chad) Gravatt, Jeanette (Rich) Erdmann, Katrina (John) Rigozzi and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brothers Ron (Hilary) Stanislawski, Eddy Joe (Wendy) Stanislawski and sister Linda (Doug) Benoit.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Robin, nephew Everett and niece Jacinta.
Visitation for Bill is Friday, April 29, 2022 at Filbrandt Chapel Funeral Home, 1076 S. Bailey Ave, South Haven, Michigan, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 12 p.m. Pastor Duane Jones will officiate. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Filbrandt Chapel-Starks Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Services. 269-637-0333.
