Ursula's Obituary
Ursula J. Barr, 76, a lifelong resident of Dowagiac, passed away on Thursday evening, November 28, 2024, at Corewell Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, MI.
She was born on April 27, 1948, in Dowagiac, the daughter of the late Albert and Helen (Harris) Zagorjan. On November 20, 1971, Ursula was united in marriage to Joseph E. Barr. She worked at Wicks Apple House in Dowagiac for many years until their closing. Ursula enjoyed going to the casino, quilting, and loved animals, including cats, dogs and chickens. Ursula loved attending auto racing at the Hartford Speedway and never missed one of her son’s races.
Surviving are her three children – Laura (Chad) Hutchings, Steve Carpenter, and Andy Barr; three grandchildren – Nikalus, Bly, and Kyle; and nephew – Jim Robinson.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 52 years – Joseph Barr; and five siblings – Chuck Mullard, Dick Mullard, Leonard Mullard, Bobby Zagorjan and June Bachman.
Honoring Ursula’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation or services. Arrangements were entrusted to Clark Chapel and Cremation Services – Starks Family Funeral Homes, 405 Center St, Dowagiac.
