Tom's Obituary
Pastor Tom Langston, Sr, 79, of Coloma, MI, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family and friends. After 3.5 years, the Lord called him home and the suffering he endured from cancer has ended. He has gained a glorious new body and Heavenly home. This is what he worked so diligently for.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will take place by the family for April 05, at The First General Baptist Church in Coloma. The officiating pastor will be Pastor Ed Richcreek from the Revive Church.
Tom was born on August 07, 1945, in Magness, Ark to George and Emily (Roberts) Langston. He came from a humble and loving family which influenced his own love for others.
In 2005 he felt, led by the Lord, to build a new church which consisted of many bake sales, rummage sales, auctions, dinners and other numerous fund raisers. In February 2006 we had our first service in the new church. What a glorious service that was. He retired in 2009 as a semi driver. Tom exchanged a steering wheel and a gear shift in his hands for a Bible and a pulpit. He enjoyed being the pastor for 33 years. He loved his congregation as family and was always on call when needed. Tom never met a stranger; he loved people, and they loved him. He will be greatly missed by all for his dedication to the Lord and his whitty sense of humor.
Tom is survived by his wife Pat (Kendall) Langston of 61 years, his daughter Helen (Glenn) Tanner, and his son Tommy Jr. and a grandson John Tanner. Also, his sister Imogene Wells, brothers Homer and Lester Langston. And his mother-in-law, Lucille Eubanks.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Deborah, his parents, and brothers Lee, George Wayne, and Herman.
