Terry's Obituary

Terry J. Blythe, 77, of Baroda, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at his home. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 4, at 1 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Eric Jarvis officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family, c/o payable to Debbie Blythe. Terry was born on May 27, 1947, in Benton Harbor, to George & Clara (Shropshire) Blythe. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1965. Professionally, Terry worked his way up the chain of command in the food industry and would eventually become the Meat Director for a variety of different companies. He also had a business where he would work with local hunters and help get their meat processed. He was also a tremendous chef, cooking delicious meals, usually based around meat, for his family and friends. Another passion of Terry’s was fishing. He enjoyed being outdoors on his boat fishing with his friends and family. He was also a proud member of a Bass Fishing Club.

Terry is survived by his loving wife, Debbie; children, Amy (Travis) Lucas of Crystal, MI, Thad Blythe of Benton Harbor, MI, and Jamie (Ron) Block of Valparaiso, IN; grandchildren, Zachary (Mackenzie), Logan, Hannah, Morgan and Bailey; great-grandchild, Rowen; and siblings, Doris Blythe of St. Joseph and Don (Linda) Blythe of Newark, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Clara; brothers, Dale & Dan Blythe; and son, Eric Thompson
