Tammy's Obituary

Tammy Eileen Kelley, 64, of Buchanan, formerly Edwardsburg, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at her home in Buchanan.

A celebration of life service will be held at noon on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Community of Christ Church, South, 110 Cleveland Ave., Galien, MI. A time of gathering will take place one hour prior, from 11-12, also at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan. Memorial contributions may be made to LaSalle Council, Boys Scouts of America, #165, 1340 S. Bend Ave., South Bend, Indiana, 46617. Tammy was born on July 20, 1960, in Buchanan, MI. She graduated from Berrien Springs High School in 1978, then continued her education at Southwestern Michigan College. In 1979, she married A. Vaughn Armstrong, together they had three daughters, he preceded her in death. She later married Len J. Kelley, who preceded her in death in 2002.

Professionally, Tammy worked several years at Cass County Medical Care Facility as a Nursing Assistant, then several years at Brothers Bakery before injuring her back.

Tammy enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, and loved animals. She especially appreciated time at the zoo and bird watching. Her most cherished moments were spent with her family, and she adored her grandchildren and was proud to help raise them.

Tammy is survived by her daughter, Katrina (Timothy, Sr.) VanDusen, their children, Andrew Vankirk, Gavin VanDusen and Timothy VanDusen; daughter, Jilliann (Timothy) Marrow, their dog, Buddy Marrow; daughter, Nichole (Joseph) Biggs, their children, Ronin Biggs and Isabella Biggs; step-mother, Maryanna Christy; step-son, Michael Babcock and family; step-son Len L. Kelley, his children, Kennedy Kelley, Mirah Kelley and Julianna Kelley; step-daughter, Diana Kelley-Ruiz and family; siblings, Paula (Arnold) Walker, Lyle (Valerie) Christy, Colleen (Ed) Kelley, Agatha (Dwayne) Shelton, Robert Christy, and Maryjo Bridges; great-granddaughther, Amerianna Kelley.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lyle Christy; mother, Marita (Noble) Westveer; 1st, husband, A. Vaughn Armstrong and 2nd husband, Len J. Kelley.
