Stu's Obituary
Stuart Dustin Rose, Jr., 73, of Buchanan, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at home.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 1-5 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Buchanan American Legion, 403 E. Front St., Buchanan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Buchanan American Legion, Post 51, or the Berrien Springs American Legion, Post 85. Those wishing to send a condolence online may do so at www.swemchapel.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Swem Chapel, Buchanan.
Stu was born on July 7, 1951, to Stuart Sr., and Delores (Hoffius) Rose in Grand Rapids, MI. He graduated from St. Joseph High School. Professionally, Stu dedicated 24 years to Kalin Construction as a truck driver before retiring.
On November 16, 1991, he married Dianne Torgerson in Sacramento, CA.
Stu enjoyed NASCAR, fishing- especially with his grandchildren, and had a contagious sense of humor, always having fun and being a jokester. Family was what Stu cherished most, and his happiest times were at the many family gatherings, bonfires, bowling and cookouts.
Stu is survived by his wife of 32 years, Dianne Rose; children, DeAnn (Jon Saxton) Rose of Cassopolis, Mitzi (Timothy) Jones of Berrien Springs and Robert (Stacey) Horsley of Sacramento, CA; grandchildren, Ashlee Jones, Jake Jones, Garrett (Diamond Tyson) Jones, Suzanna Horsley; brother, Chris Rose; sisters, Edith (Pat) Sweeney, Pam Bush and many other great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stuart Sr., and Delores Rose; brother, Scott Rose; sister, Robin Clark and Poppy.
