Steven's Obituary

Steven M. Gazi, 78, of South Haven, Michigan peacefully passed away, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.

He was born April 3, 1944, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Steven and Wynnafred (Harris) Gazi.

Steve graduated from Bangor High School in 1962. He earned his Bachelor of Psychology from Western Michigan University. Steve honorably served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was the head of maintenance for St. Joseph Catholic Schools for 10 years. He went on to work for Georgia Pacific for 17 years before retiring in 2008. To keep active in the community, for the past 6 years, Steve worked at the Meijer store in South Haven. He was an active member of St. Basil Catholic Church. He enjoyed photography, gardening and taking family vacations. Bringing him the most joy was spending time with his large family.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Gazi and 11 children Lara (Steve) Pratt, Dianna (William) Kalleward, Michael (Debbie) Gazi, Steven (Ellen) Gazi, Peter (Sara) Gazi, Robert (Tiffany) Gazi, Thomas Gazi, Vance Gazi, John Gazi, Virginia (Kyle) Chaivre, Luke Gazi, 28 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, brother Phil Gazi and sister Charlotte Stover. Steve was preceded in death by his sibling. David Gazi.

Visitation will be at the Filbrandt Chapel on Thursday, June 16th 2022 from 6:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M.
There will also be a Rosary at 7:30 P.M. on Thursday.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday June 17th 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Basil Catholic Church with Father James Morris officiating. Steven will be laid to rest in Arlington Hill Cemetery in Bangor, Michigan.
