Stephanie Jane Johnson, 68, of Battle Creek, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Bronson Battle Creek Medical Center in Battle Creek, MI. She was born December 14, 1955 in Paw Paw, MI to Nathaniel Wattles and Jane (McCormick) Ozbune.
The family invites those who wish to gather at Lakeside Cemetery on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 11:00am to commit Stephanie’s ashes to the ground. A celebration of life will also be held at a later date.
Stephanie loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandson, who was her pride and joy. Before her sudden illness, she had been looking forward to taking him for rides on her new golf cart, bought strictly for those occasions they could go cruising together. Time with family and friends meant everything to Stephanie. You could often find her visiting with her sister, spending time beachside, or loving on her two precious cats.
Stephanie will be missed by her son, Christopher (Ashley) Kovalcik; her grandson, Cash Kovalcik; her sister, Prudence (the late Dennis) Newell; her nephew, Patrick Yeider; and her niece, Heather Hart.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Johnson; her siblings, Julie Kramer, and Ralph Ozbune; and her parents.
