Shirley's Obituary
Our mother Shirley Jean Clem, sadly passed away on January 27th, 2024 at the age of 84.
She was a wonderful mother who was always there when you needed her.
She was preceded in death by her birth parents Oscar Thompson and Marjorie Shanahan and James Stevens her father that raised her.
She was born in Marion, IN. on June 27th 1939 and survived by sisters Vickie Fandrich, Cathy Sutton and Penny Hacker. Children: Tammy Clem and James Clem. Grand Children: Kyle Clem and Mitchell Clem.
Shirley was a wonderful mother, sister, and friend. She touched so many lives and helped so many people.
She had a heart of gold, giving more than she would ever receive and then gave even more.
Her love was felt through her embraces that would almost break you in half.
Her smiles were infectious, and her laughter and sense of humor would fill the room with joy.
She always had a way to cheer you up when you felt down and bring a smile to your face.
She inspired many with her enthusiasm and encouragement.
She loved to sew, upholstery, cook and bake. Her specialty was baking wedding cakes, pies, cookies. She never asked for anything in return. She loved working with children at Oak Manor Elementary as a lunch aid and mentor. For 17 years she worked at Berrien RESA school district helping disabled children until age 74.
She will be greatly missed. We love you and we will see you again one day in heaven.
A Celebration of Life Open House will be held on Saturday, February 10 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. at Toscana Park Clubhouse (inside leasing office), 314 Toscana Blvd, Granger, IN 46530.
