Sharon's Obituary
Sharon Marie DeMarco (Roberts), 67, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away August 25, 2024. Born on February 9, 1957, in Lawton, OK, Sharon was the beloved daughter of the late Jan Bakeman and granddaughter of Ellie Livingston.
Sharon graduated from Dowagiac Union High School in 1975 and went on to have a fulfilling career at the US Postal Service where she dedicated 37 years of service, with the last 28 years proudly serving as Postmaster in the Village of Eau Claire, MI.
Sharon was a huge fan of “I Love Lucy”, playing the piano, and listening to heavy metal. She shared her passions with her family and always touted herself as the cool grandma.
Sharon was a strong, hardworking woman who, despite facing many hardships in her life, always put her loved ones needs above her own and ensured they were taken care of. She was always there to offer a cup of coffee or a swift kick in the butt to whoever needed. She will be remembered for her witty humor, her caring nature and her contagious laugh. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Sharon is survived by her loving sons, Robert Sovine (Kim Hagemann) of Decatur, MI, and Scott (Erin) Congdon Jr. of Eagle River, AK, and special daughter Leah Sovine of Dowagiac, MI. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Leana Allen (Derrick Caldwell) of Chicago, IL, Emma Sovine and Madelynn Sovine of Dowagiac, MI, Ethan Sovine of Cassopolis, MI, and great-grandchild Sol Caldwell of Chicago.
Friends may visit with Sharon’s family from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Clark Chapel – Starks Family Funeral Homes, 405 Center St, Dowagiac.
