Ronald Gary Lain , 80, of Grand Haven, passed away surrounded by family, Wednesday, May 8,
2024 at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit.
As per Ronald’s wishes he was cremated, and a private service was held at Filbrandt Chapel.
Burial of cremains will take place at a later date at Taylor Cemetery, Fennville.
Ronald was born on July 22, 1943, in Dearborn to the late Rivus and Edith (Webb) Lain. On Jan 5,
1963, in Dearborn he married his wife, Diane (Schwemle) Lain. She survives along with their
children, Richard (Lynne) Lain, Deborah (Kevin) Kingry, Sharon (Kent) Tobin, and Jacquie (Mat)
Rehkopf. Ronald has 14 grandchildren, Jonathan, Connor, Hilary, Kurt, David, Lauren, Emily,
Matthew, Riley, Keegan, Mason, Colin, Grant, and Ellen. Also surviving are 13 great-grandchildren
and a sister, Shirley Hartley. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Mary Swanko and 1
brother, Donald Lain.
Ronald was an engineer in machine automation, retiring from RWC, Incorporated, Bay City in 2009.
He was passionate about woodworking, fishing, golfing and University of Michigan Football.
His gentle nature will be greatly missed.
