Ronald Clarence Bond, 80, of New Buffalo, MI, passed away on Sat. Nov. 25, 2023 in his home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel – 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI.
Ronald was born on May 29, 1943 in Michigan City, IN, to the late Clarence and Rose Bond. He married Betty Kirk on March 3, 1987 in Las Vegas, NV; she preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 2018. Ron was a retired carpenter and spent many years on the New Buffalo City Fire Department.
He is survived by his children – Randy (Angie) Bond of Coloma, MI, Russell Bond of Kissimmee, FL, Dennis (Beth) Kellogg of LaPorte, IN, Dale (Debbie) Kellogg of Valparaiso, IN, Bambi (John) Papes of LaPorte, IN and Dawn (Brian) Trusha of New Buffalo, MI; 17 grandchildren – Joshua Pratt, Daniel Pratt,Matthew Bond, Thomas Bond, Megan (Andrew) Peters, Christopher (Megan) Lonske, Alyse (Mike) Flores, Ryan (Lindsey) Doperalski, Joshua (Emily) Kellogg, Evan (Tamarah) Doperalski, Cole (Sky) Kellogg, Ethan (Emily) Lonske, Logan Doperalski, Rylee Lonske, Katherine Doperalski, Avery Lonske, and Ellamarie Lonske; 3 great grandchildren – Aubrey, Gracie, Eleanor, Austin, Emmett, Connor, Greyson, Corbin, Cooper, Olive and Bennett; and a sister – Betty Lachman of Stevensville, MI. Preceding in death are two grandchildren - Olivia and Nolan
Private services will be held with committal at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo.
