Rick's Obituary
Richard Dean Dickerson, 65, of Sugar Grove, Illinois passed away on January 6, 2025. He was born on November 23, 1959 in South Haven, Michigan to Roy and Brenda Dickerson.
Rick brought light, love and joy to everyone who knew him. He was a kind, generous soul with a contagious laugh and a heart of gold. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, a devoted friend and an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rick devoted most of his career by serving others in hospitality. He recently retired from his dream job as a General Clubhouse Manager at the exclusive, private golf course, Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, where he was loved and admired for his work with co-workers and private members.
Rick will be remembered for his dry but childlike sense of humor, his dedication to the job he loved, his deep love for his family and friends but most importantly his empathy and gentle soul. His legacy lives on in the cherished memories he created with his family and friends.
He is survived by his older brother, Roy Bradley Dickerson; younger brother, Brian Keith Dickerson; sister-in-law, April Dickerson; niece and nephews, Tyler Dickerson, Cali Hamm, Joshua Dickerson and Logan Dickerson, who will forever hold him in their hearts. Rick will be deeply missed but his love and light will remain with us always.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Filbrandt Chapel, in his hometown of South Haven from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. A celebration and honoring of Rick’s life will follow at 1:00 P.M. at Filbrandt Chapel with Pastor Eric Jarvis officiating.
