Farmer's Obituary

Richard “Farmer” Washegesic, 66 of Grand Junction, passed away on November 16, 2024. Born on November 3, 1958 in South Haven to Alex and Julianna Washegesic. United in marriage to the late Dott Washegesic on August 11, 1990.

Richard is survived by his stepson Eric Pensinger, siblings; Ron (Sue) Washegesic, Margie Pratt, Mike (Jackie) Washegesic, Robert Washegesic, sister-in-law Deborrah Washegesic, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents Alex and Julianna, wife of 20 years Dott, sister Shirley Cappacio, brothers; Gerald and Donald Washegesic, nephew Jay Washegesic, niece Fawn Raymond and brother-in-law Chuck Pratt.

Farmer was a proud lifelong member of the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians. Always a jokester he loved making people laugh. He had a big heart and would give you the shirt off his back. Farmer spent his free time fishing at Saddle Lake. His family meant the world to him and he dearly loved his wife and family very much.

Visitation will take place on Friday, November 22, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at the Filbrandt Chapel Funeral Home 1076 South Bailey Ave, South Haven, MI 49090. Pastor Gary Guthrie will officiate. Farmer will be buried after cremation at Lacota Cemetery with his wife Dott Washegesic.
