Phillip's Obituary
Phillip David Braun age 90, passed into heaven on Thursday August 8th, after suffering for many years with dementia. He was a beloved father, grandfather and friend, who will be missed by all who knew him.
Phillip was born on July 10, 1934 on the South side of Chicago, Illinois. Phillip is survived by his sons; Edward Braun, David (Barbara Elliot) Braun, James (Isabel) Braun, George Braun and Joseph (Erica) Braun. 8 Grandchildren; David Braun Jr., Casey Braun, Alexzander Braun, Sebastian Braun, Raea Braun, Georgia Braun, Lillian Braun, and Elijah Braun, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his partner of 33 years Pearle Privette, parents Emo and Lillian Braun, George Goldberg, Brother Alan Braun and sister Marlene Faught.
Phillip will be remembered for his fondness of animals, Chicago and the cubs, a cold Coke, Hershey bars, a good Italian beef, and visits to the casino. He also enjoyed music, strumming his guitar and playing the harmonica. He proudly served his country in the Army artillery in Korean War and in the Army reserves.
Dementia stole the last 7 years of his life, but before that, Phillip was very active. He was a truck driver for many years. He and Pearle loved to visit people and have coffee, make a trip to the casino, and go to the movies.
Visitation will be held on Friday August 16, 2024, from 11a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12 p.m. at Filbrandt Chapel, 1076 S. Bailey Ave, South Haven Michigan, 49090. Pastor Dan Davis will officiate. Phillip will be laid to rest at Monk cemetery in Geneva Twp.
Donations in memorial may be made to Al-Van Humane Society. Arrangements are entrusted to Filbrandt Chapel-Starks Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Services. 269-637-0333.
