Paul was born on August 21, 1956, to Robert and Patricia (Ekwall) Palmer in St. Joseph, MI. He graduated from Berrien Springs High School in 1974 and furthered his education at Andrews University and Lake Michigan College.
A skilled Tool & Die Maker, Paul spent 21 years with American Tool & Mold in St. Joe, serving many of those years in management. After its closure, he took on various leadership roles in the field throughout the region, including at K-Mold & Engineering in Granger, IN, and retiring from R&M Manufacturing in Niles.
On May 6, 1977, he married the love of his life, Christine Nelson at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph.
Paul collected case knives, was an avid ice creme enthusiast, and enjoyed RC car racing with his sons and grandson. He was a very hard working and dedicated man, fully committed to anything he pursued. Known for his compassion and leadership, Paul dedicated over twenty years to the Village of Galien, serving many years as the Village President.
Above all, Paul cherished the time he spent with his family. He loved traveling, especially up north, with St. Ignace being a favorite destination he and Christine visited to each year.
Paul is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Christine Palmer; sons, Jacob (Genevieve) Palmer of Three Oaks and Justin Palmer of Galien; grandson, Emmett Palmer; parents, Robert and Patricia Palmer; brothers, Ronnie Palmer, David (Sharon) Palmer and brother-in-law, Bill (Debbie) Nelson.
