Patricia's Obituary

Patricia Sue Deaton Steele (aka “Pitter”, “Patsy”, and “Pat”), 88, of Three Oaks, Michigan, passed away on July 29th, 2024, in Three Oaks, Michigan.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 1st, 2024, at 601 West Buffalo Street, New Buffalo, MI, 49117, Pastor Mike Bettig of Converge Community Church, officiating. A second service will be held at Grace Bible Church of Anaheim, California in January 2025. Details of this service will be given later.

Patricia was born in Howe, Oklahoma, to Marshall Grady and Martha Deaton, on November 3rd, 1935. She went to school in Howe, Oklahoma then moved to Downey, California at the age of twelve. She graduated from Downey High School in Downey, California. She married Clinton Ronald Steele on May 21st, 1954, in Los Angeles, California. She worked in various jobs after she graduated from high school. The job that most defined her was her work as a teachers aid at Savannah School District in Anaheim, California. She retired in November 2002, at the age of 67 from the Savannah School District, Anaheim, California where she worked for twenty-eight years. She was actively involved in church ministry throughout the years as a children and youth ministries, woman’s ministry, celebrate recovery leader, and whenever she could be of service. In her later years she was a true prayer warrior for her family, friends, church, as well as whatever God brought on her heart. She was not only generous with her time but her money as well. Many people and organizations benefited from her generosity.

Patricia Sue Deaton Steele is preceded in death by her spouse of 61 years, Clinton Ronald Steele, son Clinton Robert Steele, granddaughter Rachael Stellwagon and grandson in-law – John LaBossierre.

Patricia Sue Deaton Steele is survived by her daughters Cheryl (Gary – Spouse) Pearman and Laurie (Timothy – Spouse) Covert; Daughter -in-law – Kelly Steele; Sisters- Faye Flemister and Jimmie Nelson; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews – great- niece and nephews – great-great niece and nephews.

Memorials may be given to the Converge Church Benevolent Fund.
