Patricia Stilwell, 92, of Dowagiac, passed away on Monday afternoon, November 25, 2024, at her home.
She was born on November 8, 1932, in Lawrence, MI, one of nine children to the late Riley and Marvil (Ruple) Utter. On November 14, 1953, Pat was united in marriage to Leo J. Stilwell. They raised four children together. Pat was a longtime 4-H leader and taught many children to knit and sew.
Surviving are her four children – Linda Kidd, Karen Stilwell, Dale (Linda) Stilwell, and Judy Stilwell; thirteen grandchildren – Michelle Kidd, Morgan Kidd, Matthew Kidd, Kristin (Brad) Adi, Danielle (Dustin) Franklin, Marissa (Lewis) Turner, Erica Karasch, Joseph (Alicia) Kidd, Jared (Rachel Gonzalez) Stilwell, Joshua (Kelsey) Stilwell, Brandon Stilwell, Tanner (Syndey) Stilwell, and Kaitlyn Stilwell; ten great-grandchildren – Aiden, Natalie, Liam, William, Ellie, Dylen, Ethen, Harrison, Grayson and Mason; brother – Richard Michael (Geri) Utter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 51 years, Leo Stilwell; and seven siblings – Leslie Utter, Clarence Utter, Jean Hafer, Mary “Mimi” Garland, Alice Long, John Utter, and Max Utter.
A service to celebrate Pat’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 3, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 603 McCleary St, Dowagiac. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4-6 PM on Monday, December 2, at Clark Chapel and Cremation Services – Starks Family Funeral Homes, 405 Center St, Dowagiac.
