Patricia Ann Casto, 81, of Buchanan, passed away on Friday – Sept. 6, 2024 at St. Joseph Hospital in Mishawaka, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted to Swem Chapel – 301 W. Front St., Buchanan, MI.
Pat was born on March 10, 1943 in New Carlisle, IN, to the late Floyd and Anna (Kollar) May.
On July 8, 1961 she married Ronald Eugene Casto; he preceded her in death on April 17, 1998. Pat is survived by her daughter – Yvette (Ed) Albright of Edwardsburg, MI; four grandchildren – Alicia (Keith) Askew of Edwardsburg, Toni (Andrew) Ward of Dowagiac, Adam (Meg) Casto of South Bend, and Josh (Alyssa) Casto of Raleigh, NC; and great grandchildren – Jayden, Camren, Danni, James, Braxton and Lilly. She is also preceded in death by her son – Robert Casto.
Pat was an avid University of Michigan football fan; her family asks that you wear casual clothing to the service, preferably something with the Wolverine maize and blue colors. She also enjoyed her favorite season of fall, and crocheting, her beloved cat Luna, and especially spending time with her family. Pat will be missed by family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday-Sept. 11, 2:00pm, at Swem Chapel, with Pastor Tony Slagle officiating. Burial follows at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan. Visitation with the family is on Tuesday-Sept. 10, from 4:00-6:00pm, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
