Noreen was born on July 15, 1928, in Bainbridge, MI, to Samuel & Dorothy (Powell) Arent. She graduated from Coloma High School in 1946. Following her graduation, Noreen attended The National Beauty College where she graduated in 1947. On October 25, 1952, Noreen married the love of her life, Arthur “Wes” Sonnenberg; the two were happily married for almost 50 years before his passing in 2002. Noreen’s passion for the beauty industry led to her first job at Vincent’s Beauty Shop in Benton Harbor, followed by a few other local salons and would retire from DJ Studio. She loved hosting weekend gatherings at her house on the river for her friends and family. However, what gave her the most joy was cheering on her grandchildren at any of their extracurricular events.

Noreen is survived by her children, Wesley (Cherie) Sonnenberg of Jenison, MI and Tami (Kirk) Richardson of Paw Paw, MI; grandchildren, Daniel (Michelle) Sonnenberg, Sarah (John) Hayner, Ryan Sonnenberg, Kyle Richardson & Tyler Richardson; great-grandchildren, Johnny & Evie Hayner, and Hunter & Ava Sonnenberg; and, sister-in-law, Lois Ingraham. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel & Dorothy; husband, Wes; siblings, Norris, Noble, Norman, Tilferd, Carl, Wesley & Marilyn.
