Michael David “Mike” Holmes

Michael D. “Mike” Holmes, 58, of St. Joseph, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, April 28, at 3 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Anton Pellegrini officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at a later date at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Mike was born on November 14, 1966, in St. Joseph, to Jim & Gladys May (Trask) Holmes. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1985 and continued his education by attending Northwest Ohio Technical College for Diesel Mechanics in Lima, OH. Upon earning a certificate there, he returned home to open Red Wagon LLC, which was a website development business. Although Mike was a pioneer when it came to web development, his true passion was in music. He loved playing the keyboard and writing music. Mike lived a simple life; he was gentle, unselfish, generous and loved Jesus Christ with all his heart.

Mike is survived by his brothers, Robert (Remy) Holmes and Kendal (Monica) Holmes; nieces & nephews, Justin (Jenifer) Holmes, Robyn (Kylan Kendrick) Holmes and James (Marissa) Holmes; great-nieces & great-nephews, Ryann, Charlotte and Brooklyn Holmes & Kennedy and Coco Kendrick; and cousins, Laura Holtquist, Lisa Melin, Gin & Natalia Berner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim & Gladys May.
