Martha's Obituary
With a beautiful sunrise on February 4, 2025, Martha Teisan went home to be with her LORD and Savior. She was born in 1933 to Everett and Lena (Hempenius) Waterlander. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Robert, whom she married on March 23, 1957, and daughter, Janet Kucharski.
Martha had been a member of Decatur Bible Church since 1968, where she loved serving the LORD. She was a nurse by profession and caregiving was her calling. She was a wonderful homemaker, and had the gift of hospitality. She made everyone feel welcome for big Sunday dinners, holidays, or just dropping in for coffee time. She loved sitting by Lake Michigan with Maggie, enjoying the view of God’s nature. She joyfully spent her life loving and caring for her family, who will always treasure her and the lifetime of good memories.
Left to cherish her memory are: her sister, Magdalene Waterlander, daughters, Martha (Lance) Lambert, Leah (Roy) Wendt, Barbara (John) Robbins, Carolyn (Tom) Harmon, and son in law Tony Kucharski, along with her 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive guests from 5-7pm, Friday, February 7, 2025 at Newell Chapel, 83313 M51, Decatur. Visitation will continue from 11am until time of funeral service at 12pm, Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Decatur Bible Church, 80797 M51, Decatur. Interment will be held privately at Harrison Cemetery, Decatur. Memorial contributions may be given to Decatur Bible Church.
