Mark's Obituary

Markam Ronald Alexander, 64, of Dowagiac, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at his home in Dowagiac. He was born July 24, 1960 in Port Huron, MI to Dale and Diane (Ownby) Alexander.

Mark was a man described as someone who “knew a little about a lot”. This mentality shone through with his love of antiquing – you could often find him at auctions, collecting a little bit of everything from lamps to automotive equipment to furniture. When asked about new acquirements, he often responded with, “I love a good deal”, and he had an eye for valuable items. Mark was a proud veteran of the US Army, and was a member of the VFW Post 1855, the Eagles Club, and the Moose Lodge. But nothing gave Mark greater joy than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. The role of Grandpa was by far his most honorable one.

Mark is survived by his children, Georgie (Aaron) Clark, and Robert (Paula) Lonero; his grandchildren, Benjamin and Evelyn Clark, and Anthony and Gianna Lonero; his father, Dale Alexander; his siblings, Dale Alexander, Kim Alexander, Wendy (J.D.) Glaser, Lazarus (Flora) Alexander, and Judy Alexander; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his son, Markam Thomas Alexander; and his mother, Diane Alexander.

The family will receive guests from 1pm until the time of funeral service at 2pm, Monday, November 4, 2024 at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac. Those wishing to leave an online condolence for the family may do so at www.clarkch.com.
