Mark's Obituary
After graduating from New Buffalo High School, opportunity took him to Colorado, where he and Denise Bingham collided, lived, and loved. Their story produced Jocelyne (Jonny), Audrey (Ray), and Madeline (Tom), a few chaotic family vacations, and thousands of photos. Everyone knew him as the life of the party, and he was always the first one in the pool, even if it was via the roof of someone’s house.
He worked for Bowen’s Decorating Services for many years, until he opened his own business, Diamond Painting & Decorating. He loved crawfish, quoting movies, snowmobiling, and buying far too many outdoor vehicles that he would never actually use. He was a fantastic gardener, and always went on every carnival ride.
Alcoholism is a disease, and he spent the last years of his life concealing the depth of his alcohol addiction. He missed out on knowing his only two grandchildren, Owen and Eleanor, and never fully grasped the reality of the path he was on. Mark died of liver failure on January 10th, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his nephew Jason Brower, stepfather Joe Oslakovic, and father Clem Tuszynski.
A memorial will take place on Saturday, February 3rd, from 3pm-6pm at Sommerfeld Chapel – 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, with sharing of stories beginning at 5:30pm. Those interested in memorializing Mark’s life may do so by making a donation to the Alano House of Southwest Michigan @ 4162 Red Arrow Hwy, Stevensville, MI 49127
